Swords

Two of Swords

A two-headed snake slices through the sand, light and dark, masculine and feminine, in all things balance. Through the Twos flow the spirit of the High Priestess and her instinct to unify opposites.

Deep in the dark of the forest, your fronds unfurl, intertwining and disentangling.

Upright

  • Stalemate
  • Unease
  • Avoidance

You exist in the eye of a storm, an uneasy peace prone to sudden dissolution. The Two of Swords hangs over you, promising resolution; look to the surrounding cards to understand the nature of this, and whether it will be favourable.

You or your fellow travellers dance over the surface of problems, fearful of disturbing what lurks beneath, but matters repressed only grow stronger when kept from the light. The imbalances you fear may be better confronted.

Inverted

  • Caution
  • Deceit
  • Eventual release

You stand on a clouded peak, connected by a golden thread to another peak, bathed in sunshine. Do not be tempted to walk along this thread, for its strength is untested and the winds are strong. Be wary of deceit, in others or yourself.

If the Universe smiles on you, an awaited release may arrive. Aspects of your spirit which are held in bondage will be freed; the surrounding cards will give you the details you seek.
