Pentacles

Five of Pentacles

In the centre of the pentagram you find chaos. Behind your eyes hangs the Hierophant inverted: anarchy, energy, the potential for unimaginable positive change and the threat of a wind of destruction blown through the open windows of your relationships.

The Fives speak of struggle. Look to the cards to understand the battles that must be fought and the fulfilment that may lie in victory.

Upright

  • Poverty
  • Hardship of the spirit
  • Possibility of restoration

Frolicking in times of plenty has left you with little on which to survive in a time of hardship. Business opportunity may recede or be entirely absent.

Your hardship may not be simply material; perhaps a period of struggle has depleted your resolve, or the value you find in yourself has lessened, precluding confidence and creativity.

You would do well to remember that the Five augurs change. Solutions may involve conflict and further hardship, but they are solutions nonetheless. Take heart from the potential for growth that comes with all times of difficulty.

Inverted

  • Restoration
  • Growth
  • New beginnings

Poverty is the mist that swathes your mountaintop, but through hard work you sense the incipient return of belief. You will carry this mist with you, but you will walk in the sun as losses previously experienced are redressed.

Help may come in the form of an outsider, bestowing financial resources that offer the potential of a new start. Accept this help with gratitude.
