Swords

Ten of Swords

Change yawns before you; the Tens extend an invitation to put your affairs in order before you return to the Aces and begin anew. You find yourself preoccupied with the messages of the Wheel of Fortune, of destiny and fate and the immutable language of the heavens.

You are a pebble in the river of time; through the sediment of people and ideas that gather around you, you may find meaning in the chaos of the currents.

Upright

  • Ruin
  • Perfidy
  • Painful endings

Betrayal awaits around every corner, the lurking promise of ruin. Speak not of this to fellow travellers, for they are not to be trusted; maintain caution in your written communications, and avoid making commitments without full knowledge of the matters to which they pertain.

Matters both internal and external may be coming to an end. This is likely to be a source of immense pain. There can be no avoidance of this, and you must rely in your inner reserves. Take comfort from the fact that this ending also augurs the end of a dark time, and matters shall improve.

Inverted

  • Self-sabotage
  • Negativity
  • Pessimism

Sometimes, the enemy is not a stalking figure in the shadow of the trees. Negativity is a foe who lives inside you, and you must vanquish it; a current period of relative success can only be mad permanent if you accomplish this.

Listen to your fellow travellers, and avoid those who speak of trouble and sickness, for they tempt these fates upon themselves with their words. Negativity is a plague, and once it finds root in your party it will surely spread.
